The National Environmental Literacy Foundation
The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) is the nation’s leading organization in lifelong environmental learning, connecting people to knowledge they use to improve the quality of their lives and the health of the planet. We achieve this by providing knowledge to trusted professionals and other leaders who, with their credibility, amplify messages to national audiences to solve everyday environmental problems.
The North American Association Environmental Education
For more than four decades, NAAEE has been a leader in promoting excellence in environmental education throughout North America. It is the only national membership organization dedicated to strengthening the field of environmental education and increasing the visibility and effectiveness of the profession. NAAEE’s influence stretches across North America and around the world, with members in more than 30 countries. NAAEE and its 54 state, provincial, and regional Affiliate organizations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico have more than 16,000 members.
The Environmental Literacy Council
For more than a decade, the Environmental Literacy Council has been dedicated to helping teachers, students, policymakers, and the public find cross-disciplinary resources on the environment. An independent, 501(c)3 organization, the Council offers free background information on common environmental science concepts; vetted resources to broaden understanding; and curricular materials that don't tell teachers how to teach, but give them the tools to augment their own backgrounds - no matter what their current knowledge.
The No Child Left Inside® Coalition
The No Child Left Inside® Coalition is a national coalition of over 2000 business, health, youth, faith, recreational, environmental, and educational groups representing over 50 million Americans. The Coalition was formed in 2007 to alert Congress and the public to the need for our schools to devote more resources and attention to environmental education. The Coalition is working to support legislation sponsored by Rep. John Sarbanes of Maryland and Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island to ensure that every student achieves basic environmental literacy. T
